ECA Maastricht goes to Strasbourg! Join us on this study trip to one of the seats of the European Institutions, participate in the European Youth Event 2021 at the European Parliament, and visit the Council of Europe, all in 4 days! The European Youth Event (EYE) is a bi-annual conference, bringing together thousands of young people from all over the European Union and beyond, to shape and share their ideas on the future of Europe (https://european-youth-event.europarl.europa.eu/ ). This year, it will focus on the topics covered by the Conference on the Future of Europe (https://futureu.europa.eu/).
The ECA was chosen as an activity organizer for EYE 2021 with the panel “27+? Youth take on EU Neighbourhood Policy and enlargement”. As such, we have the privilege of bringing 20 participants physically to Strasbourg! We have also secured a study visit to the Council of Europe, the leading European human rights organization, giving you a chance to discover its work and the career opportunities it offers.
Programme:
October 7th: early departure from Maastricht. Visit to the Council of Europe, tour of the buildings, and presentation on the institution and the career opportunities there. Hotel check-in. ECA group dinner at Flam’s.
October 8th: Participation in EYE 2021 – choose your own activities on the EYE platform. At 16:45, you can join the ECA activity: “27+? Youth take on EU Neighbourhood Policy and enlargement”. In the evening, join the European Emerging Bands Contest.
October 9th: Participation in EYE 2021 – choose your own activities on the EYE platform.
October 10th: Free time for sightseeing around Strasbourg. Departure to Maastricht around 16:00.
To participate in the trip, you must:
1. Be an ECA Member for the academic year 2021-22. Sign up here: https://ecamaastricht.org/join
2. Hold a valid EU Digital COVID certificate on October 7th, meaning you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (14 days past the last dose of the vaccine), you hold a PCR test not older than 72 hours, or you have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months.
3. Be resident in an EU Member State and be between 18 and 30 years of age.
The total price for the trip is 50,00 EUR. The remaining costs are sponsored with a contribution from the Visits Service of the European Parliament.
The total price includes:
- Transportation from and to Maastricht
- 3 hotel nights in the 3* Hotel Origami Lifestyle in Strasbourg, in double rooms.
- One 3-day public transport ticket valid across Strasbourg
- Study visit to the Council of Europe
- Participation in EYE 2021
The total price does not include:
- Breakfasts and other meals
- The optional ECA group dinner at Flam’s (13,00EUR)
