European Digital Safety in the 21st Century

  • Festzaal, Faculty of Law (map)

What does the European Union do in the sphere of privacy and protection of personal data? What are the current developments? And finally: Why should I care and how can I have a great career in this field?
Data protection is a very dynamic field that influences everyone's lives. Therefore we are happy to announce that the European Data Protection Supervisor will be our host on December 8th! This is an open event available to anyone who signs up through the link in our bio. However, the capacity of the lecture hall is limited so make sure to secure your spot as soon as possible!
After an introduction to European Data Projection, our host, Mr Plamen Angelov, will brief us on up-to-date developments in the field, such as the highly-problematic data transfer over the Atlantic.
This event is a great opportunity to get acquainted with data protection. Since it is a dynamic field, many young professionals find a career there. That is why the last part of the presentation will focus on career possibilities. It will give you the information you need to consider future data-related electives, minor or even further studies.
