Mentorship Programme
Capitalizing on our alumni network, we are excited to bring you our very own ECA Mentorship Programme!
How it works:
Every ECA member has the possibility to apply to one of our mentors depending on your interests and ambitions.
The ECA mentorship coordinators will allocate the mentees to suitable mentors.
The mentorship period lasts around one academic year, during which you are free to ask for help, advice, and guidance. The programme includes chats with your mentor.

As a mentee, you will have the opportunity to engage with a range of individuals with exciting careers. With this you will also have the chance to guide discussions with professionals in an engaging and confident manner.
Career support
Gain valuable insights and insider tips from professionals within a specific profession. Maybe you will gain extra motivation, and a new direction for your aspirations!
Networking
Connect directly with experts and gain firsthand insights into their personal experiences in the field. You will have the chance to build a meaningful connection with your mentor.
Goals of the program:
Long-term Goals: Strengthen the ECA community by fostering closer connections and a supportive network, bridging the gap between alumni and current students to create lasting relationships.
• For Participants: Start building a network that offers guidance and offers ongoing support and provides opportunities in the future. You will feel more confident and prepared after graduation.
Short-term Goals: Encourage active member participation, offering incentives to engage within the community. Create pathways for beginners to explore career options, gain insights into professional life, and establish valuable contacts.
• For Participants: Open doors to new opportunities and provide a practical view of the working world through networking and mentorship. Specific guidance during your studies that will help to ensure long term goals and you will find a way to reach your dreams.

Vaclav Sadilek
Professional Background: Fulfillment Business Specialist Project Bridge and Business Process Lead at Belden Inc.
What job entails: Role within the team Project Bridge which is Belden’s transformative team responsible for moving the company globally to a new ERP system and unifying processes globally. This includes multiple phases such as, solutions confirmation, design and build phase and test phase. Does so while working closely with one of the biggest consultancy companies in the world : Accenture.

Ingrid Franková
Professional Background: Criminal Intelligence Analyst with over 25 years of experience across Europol, the United Nations and national law enforcement. Is currently pursuing the LLM in AI, Ethics, Regulation and Innovation at the European Law and Governance University.
What job entails: A career combining international police cooperation, criminal law, security and intelligence analysis and emerging AI driven technologies.
I can help you with: Advising on career opportunities in international organisations, EU agencies, law enforcement, intelligence and security as well as private sector roles in financial crime compliance and regulatory affairs. Also to share insights on skills, qualifications and challenges to enter these fields; offering a practitioner’s perspective on academic research and its relevance to criminal law and international crime justice; and advise on CVs, applications and interviews, including guidance for students with multidisciplinary backgrounds.
Transparency: For meeting no. 4 (look at structure outlined in the Guideline posted above in this page) can review internship opportunities but it is the responsibility of the mentee to search and identify potential internships.
Georg Münstermann
Professional Background: Former Lecturer at SBE at Maastricht University and is now doing a PhD in Engineering (Energy System Modeling) in Brussels

Jan Ellermann
Professional Background: Senior Specialist in Europol’s Data Protection Office and is one of the initators of the Europol Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN)
What job entails: To provide operational data protection related guidance across the organisation. This includes advising the European Cybercrime Centre (C3), the European Counter Terrorism Centre (ECTC), the European Serious and Organised Crime Centre (ESOC) among others.
I can help you with: CVs review, interview advice and career advice considering his role as a certified data protection auditor with a Master of Science in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation at University College Dublin. As well as his previous professional career as a research assistant and lawyer in Germany, later serving as a public prosecutor.

Charlotte Materne
Professional Background: Political Assistant to the Director for Security and Defence Policy at the European External Action Service (EEAS) on secondment from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence.
What job entails: Drafting strategic briefings for senior leadership, supporting the preparation of high level meetings and works closely with the rotating presidencies of the Council of the EU. At the centre of coordination between MS, EU institutions and partner organisations.
